About the Project

To meet the growing need, Canuck Place plans to build a 10-bed, 5 family suite, 30,000 square foot hospice in Abbotsford which will essentially double the capacity of Canuck Place.

The Abbotsford location at 32766 Marshall Road, right next to Abbotsford Regional Hospital, will make our program available closer to home for many BC children and families in the Fraser Valley and Interior, lessening their need for travel.

Operations will be phased in over a three to five year period, beginning with a consultation team, outpatient clinic, and support groups, then three to four beds open 24-hours per day, working incrementally to a fully operational 10 bed children’s hospice as funding is secured on an ongoing basis.

"Having respite and symptom management available to us for Jordyn has really turned things around for our family.  Not only does it give use a chance to have a break once in a while but it gives us peace of mind to know that if things get bad we are not alone;  we always have someone to talk to."
